The famous sea legend of the Flying Dutchman® tells the story of an 18th century Dutch sailing master who scorned God for giving him ill winds on his voyage. For scorning God, he was condemned to sail the seven seas without rest – allowed to go ashore only every seven years to seek his salvation. His salvation would be a woman who would be faithful to him 'til death. Did he find such a woman?
Even today, many sailors swear that on foggy nights they've seen the Dutchman's ghost ship with black mast and red sails drifting slowly past them. These reports have come from all parts of the world. Who would deny a sailor's tale?
Bringing the story home to the Kemah Boardwalk®, The Flying Dutchman® honors this story by serving legendary seafood on the waterfront. As one of the best seafood restaurants in Kemah, our fresh selections have delighted guests on the boardwalk for decades.
We offer a variety of fresh seafood dishes from live seasonal crawfish to Louisiana Cajun gumbo and much more! Located directly on Texas’ Gulf coast, the waterfront views are enough to bring you in. So come on in and enjoy our Texas-hospitality and fresh seafood. You'll be telling your friends for weeks – and the legend will continue.
